Deposits for party experiences:
Deposit Amount £50
The remaining amount to be paid via bank transfer before your experience. You will get a text the week before. We no longer accept cash on arrival or bank transfers on the day. Please put your name and the date of your experience as a reference and let us know you have paid so we can check and confirm it has gone through.
Cancellation: If you need to cancel a booking with us the deposit is non-refundable.
To Cancel a booking a written cancellation email must be sent to team@tomstalkingreptiles.co.uk, If this is not done and our team arrives at the venue, full payment will need to be paid. Cancellation must be made at least 48 hours before the start time of your experience otherwise full payment will need to be paid.
Change of Date: There will be a change of date fee of £30 this is so we don't have to charge another deposit fee of £50. Once you pay the deposit you have 24 hours where we will waive the change of date fee.
COVID UPDATE: If we or you need to cancel due to the birthday family testing positive for covid we will arrange your party for another date there will be a £30 Change of date fee that will be added to your final amount. If our team tests positive for covid we will refund you your deposit or rearrange your party for another date.

How do I book?
To book you need to fill in an online enquiry form in the CONTACT US section of the website or email us on team@tomstalkingreptiles.co.uk. You can still call us with any questions or if you would like to talk in person first. We often run our experiences at all different times and offer experiences 7 days a week so if you can't get hold of us please email or send us a text.
Do I pay a deposit or pay in full?
Once we have agreed a date and time with you a contract agreement will be sent out to you to read through and sign, a £50 non refundable deposit will need to be paid for our party/121/family experiences, other experience will need to be paid in full via bank transfer (see details below) Once this has been returned with the relevant information requested and your deposit has been paid, we will then send out a confirmation email.
Can I choose which animals visit?
At our experiences you will see a selection of our mini beasts, a tortoise, snakes and lizards. We don’t take requests for particular animals as it will depend on the day.
When do I pay the final balance?
For Party experiences this can be paid in full on the day of booking or with the week before, we will send out a text reminder the week before, giving you time to make sure it's all settled
When do you arrive?
On the day of the event we will arrive roughly 10-30 minutes before the start time, depending on traffic. We will send you an eta if we are running close to the start time, and keep you updated if there is traffic. We need only a few minutes to set up.
How does the party work?
We ask that the children be sat in a single line semi-circle on chairs, this is due to safety and we also find it keeps the children in one place. There will be 1-2 handlers at each event.
A safety talk will then be held, everyone taking part must be here for this otherwise they will not be able to take part in the experience.
You will find out a little bit about the animal being shown, what it is and who it is, then we bring them around for you to meet. Guests will get the chance to look, stroke or hold,no one is ever forced to do something but we do encourage.
Do I need to supply anything?
Yes, We ask you to supply us with a table next to a wall with a power supply, We will bring. The venue (home or hall) has access to a hand washing facility at the end of the encounter. For our experiences over 12 children the venue must take place in a hall or a similar space.
Please Note:
With all our packages we are a hands-on reptile and mini beast experience. we are NOT classed as entertainers, we are classed as an encounter. As we go around with our animals our main focus and responsibility is our duty of care to our animals. It is your responsibility to keep the children calm, quiet and seated throughout the whole experience. we do have the right to stop the encounter at any given point if we feel it is too stressful and dangerous for our animals or any guests at the taking part. Full payments paid will not be refunded.
All participants must arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time, anyone who misses a part or all our safety talk will NOT be able to join in with the experience, this is due to Health & Safety and our licenses and Insurance.
Starting Time- A start time you have chosen is when we start our part of the experience, not when the party starts.
Starting Times for party experiences:
Weekends: 10:30am, 13:30pm or 16:30pm.
After school from: 15:30 onwards
Please note: We do not run our party experiences at other times throughout the day as we need to allow time to get to our other experiences and are not negotiable.

Paying your deposit and signing our agreement confirms you have read these terms and agree to them.

Time constraints and the amount of children taking part impact on the amount of animals we can show and talk about and the time the children have with each animal. Travel costs are not included as it depends on your chosen venue location please contact us for a quote)
Please Note: With all our packages we are a hands on reptile and mini beast experience. we are not classed as entertainers we are classed as an experience. we give an introduction to each animal that we take our animals around calmly and safely. Our main focus and responsibility is our duty of care to our animals. it is your responsibility to keep the children calm, quiet and seated throughout the whole experience. We do have the right to stop the experience at any given time if we feel it is too stressful and dangerous for our animals or any guests at the party.

Parties over 12 guests must be in a Hall, under 12 guests can be in a house if there is enough space for everyone to sit in a single line semi-circle on chairs.

Two hour party Split Party, MUST be in a hall. recommended for larger parties of younger children this package includes a 30 minute break halfway through.

Fairs, Fetes Festivals and Charity Fundraising Event:

We have a 3 meter x 6 meter and a 3 meter x 3 meter marquee that we can use for outside events during the summer, creating a very large space. We will have an entrance and exit and we create a flow like system for the public. In colder/wet weather we will need to be inside. (Please note if its forecast to rain we will need to be inside for the welfare of our animals or sadly we won't be able to attend) all deposits if cancelled because of the weather will sadly not be refunded, so please make sure we have access to an indoor space.

All event organisers must ensure we have access to a sink, water and soap due to health and safety. we provide hand sanitisers for all our stations, but we must have access to a hand wash station.

All event organisers must ensure we have access to power, for our heating and lighting.

our positioning will also need access to a shaded location not in direct sunlight on sunny days.

Prices will include the hire of our animals, hire of our handlers and travel/fuel costs,
please note: we are willing to travel, however if we need to stay overnight accommodation will need to be arranged.
once an agreed time and price is set, if the shoot over runs a fee will be added to the price.

All animals are multi-generation captive-bred or rescues we have taken in and restored back to health; each one living thoroughly enriched lives. Individual animals are carefully selected for their temperament and on the understanding that travelling to and appearing at these events will not cause them stress.
