Bookings and Prices

Booking: We are available Monday to Sunday with sessions available during the day or evening. We are based in Crawley West Sussex, this allows us to cover the South, South East and London.

All bookings are undertaken after careful consideration of the nature of the event and details of the venue are fully discussed with Tom's Talking Reptiles. Please contact us to check availability and to discuss your needs.

Payments & Deposits:  Once the price and availability for your chosen date has been agreed the deposit payment will need to be paid before we can send you confirmation of your booking.

This can be paid by bank transfer (see bank details below), giving your name and date as the party reference. The outstanding balance is then to be paid on our arrival at your venue; either by cash or bank transfer.

We thank you for paying your deposit, your deposit goes towards the feeding and care of our animals, our rescue and rehoming as well as booking your slot with us.

In general deposits are non-refundable, if your booking cannot go ahead for whatever  reason we will offer you the chance to move your booking to an alternative date upto 1 year from your original date. Please note this can only be changed once after another deposit must be paid. 

Like all business we must follow government guidelines regarding COVID19, these can change at anytime and we will keep you updated but postponing and changing dates may happen. We apologize but we must all work together to keep eachother safe.

By paying your deposit you are agreeing to our deposit terms.

Schools and organisations paying by cheque we ask for it to be ready on the day and if bank transfer MUST be done before or on the day of our visit; as we are dependent on prompt payments. If invoices are required please could you let us know in advance and we can provide these either via email or post.  

Deposits are not a must from schools but if the need to cancel and no deposit has been paid, we do require at least 3 days notice otherwise full payment will need to be paid. If a school needs to cancel and would like to rebook we can look at dates but the date will need to be agreed that same day and rebooking date must be within a year of the booking date.

For Deposits and Bookings

Deposit Amount £50 

The remaining amount to be paid via bank transfer the day before your experience. We no longer accept cash on arrival or bank transfers on the day. Please put your name as a reference and let us know you have paid so we can check and confirm it has gone through.

Cancelation: if you need to cancel a booking with us the deposit is non refundable. 

To Cancel a booking a written cancellation email must be sent to team@tomstalkingreptiles.co.uk, If this is not done and our team arrives at the venue, full payment will need to be paid. Cancelation must be made at least 2 hours before the start time of your experience otherwise full payment will need to be paid. 

COVID UPDATE: if we or you need to cancel due to the birthday family testing positive for covid we will arrange your party for another date. If our team tests positive for covid we will refund you your deposit or rearrange your party for another date. We do have multiple teams available and do multiple parties especially over a weekend, if we can we will get another team out on that same day.

Once a deposit is paid, you MUST let us know so we can check and You MUST Send through all your details listed below:

We will then send you your confirmation. Without doing so sadly your experience  will not be booked.

  • venue address,

  • contact names and numbers,

  • time slot you have booked,

  • length of the experience you have booked,

  • number of people taking part in the experience, 

  • Price you have been quoted,

  • For parties we will also need the:

  • name and age of the birthday person. 

We also ask you to message,email 5-7 days before to check everything is set in place,

ask any questions and to confirm everything is still set to go ahead for your experience your end.

Terms and Conditions: 

Please Note: With all our packages we are a hands-on reptile and mini beast experience. we are NOT classed as entertainers, we are classed as an encounter. As we go round with our animals our main focus and responsibility is our duty of care to our animals. it is your responsibility to keep the children calm, quiet and seated throughout the whole experience. we do have the right to stop the encounter at any given point if we feel it is too stressful and dangerous for our animals or any guests at the taking part. Full and Outstanding payments will need to be paid.

All participants must arrive 10-15 minutes before the start time, anyone who misses a part or all our safety talk will NOT be able to join in with the experience.

Starting Time- the start time you have chosen is when we start our part of the experience not when the party starts. 

Paying your deposit confirms you have read these terms and agree to them. 

Guide to our costs:

Your support helps us to recuperate the costs for the work we do: 

  • Medical cost of ill animals taken in from our rescue and rehoming and the ongoing medical needs of permanently ill animals.  

  • Travel costs

  •  Costs of housing for each animal which includes:

    • Suitable living space (in guidelines with animal welfare laws and each animal's needs)    

    • Electricity cost for UV lighting and heating

    • Cost of substrates for each animal, plants, water bowls and hides for each animal set up

    • cost of feeding 

  • The cost for each animal specialist who look after, train and care for each animal.

All animals are multi-generation captive-bred or rescues we have taken in and restored back to health; each one living thoroughly enriched lives. Individual animals are carefully selected for their temperament and on the understanding that travelling to and appearing at these events will not cause them stress. 

Packages we offer:

Time constraints and the amount of children taking part impact on the amount of animals we can show and talk about and the time the children have with each animal. Travel costs not included as depends on your chosen venue location)

 Parties Packages:

  1. One hour party; recommended for 7 and under with a maximum number 15 participants, or small groups of adults/children start from £170

  2. One and a half hour straight through party, recommended for children 9+ and large groups 15+ participants of adults/children start from £210

  3. Two hour party Split Party, recommended for larger parties of younger children this package includes a 30 minute break halfway through.

  • up to 20 participants adults/children start from £250

  • Parties up to 25 participants adults/children start from £290

  • Parties over up to 30 participants adults/children start from £330

Central, some areas of London and areas further away our prices start from:

  1. One hour party; recommended for 7 and under with a maximum number 12 participants, or small groups of adults/children start from £270

  2. One and a half hour straight through party, recommended for children 9+ and large groups 12+ participants of adults/children start from £310

  3. Two hour party Split Party, recommended for larger parties of younger children this package includes a 30 minute break halfway through.

  • up to 19 participants adults/children start from £350

  • Parties of 20+ participants adults/children start from £390

  • Parties over 25 participants adults/children start from £430

For our parties we have set start times these are 10:30, 1:30pm or 4:30pm on Weekends, after school parties can start from 3:30/4pm

Special ONE TO ONE sessions weekday/after school:

  • One hour price starts from £120

  • One hour and a half price starts from £160

Travel costs not included as depends on your chosen venue location

  • Compass card holders receive £20 discount but the card needs to be seen on the day and you must tell us when booking.

School Educational Handling Sessions:

  • Single class in school, one hour from £180 with additional classes £90 per hour

  • School Fetes (Summer, Autumn, Christmas, Easter, Halloween etc).  

  • For SEN classes we can offer these sessions as 30 minute sessions.

Nursery/pre-school and under 5's:

  • 30 minute sessions start from £120

  • 1 hour, same day (2x30 minute) price start from £180  with additional charge per class, per 30 minute session

Youth groups/Scouts/guides/out of school activities:

  • one hour price starts from £160

  • one hour and a half price starts from £190

Care homes:

  • one hour price starts from £160

  • one hour and a half price starts from £190

Fairs, Fetes Festivals and Charity Fundraising Event:

  • We have  3 meter  x 6 meter marquee that we can use for outside events during the summer but in colder weather we will need to be inside. (Please note if its forecast to rain we will need to be inside for the welfare of our animals or sadly we won't be able to attend)

  • Please contact us to discuss your event and work out the most beneficial price scheme for you.

Photo-shoots, Music Video,Tv/Filming and Advertising:

Please contact for prices and to discuss your ideas.

Prices will include the hire of our animals, hire of our handlers and travel/fuel costs,

please note: we are willing to travel, however if we need to stay overnight accommodation will need to be arranged.

once an agreed time and price is set, if the shoot over runs a fee will be added to the price
